Black Swamp Gamers will be holding its first “Unofficial” Catan Tournament SATURDAY, October 21st starting at 1PM. Unofficial means this is not a Catan Studio sanctioned tournament but we will be using the Catan Championship Tournament Rules as a guideline for how we will run ours.
PLEASE NOTE that we will NOT be using rules 1.2.4 through 1.4.3 BUT we may again use some of the wording and examples as guidelines. We will be following the format below as stated.
In order for this tournament to work, we MUST have 16 seats reserved with each participant providing a $10 donation to the club by October 7th. If all seats have not been reserved by then, we will need to adjust and schedule a different date once we reach 16 filled seats.
Scoring will be determined in the following manner:
- 4 Games will be played by all participants, each game with a MAX playtime of 1hr OR whoever hits 10 victory points to activate the end of game condition.
- Your total victory points at the end of each game will be added together for a grand total to determine who will play in the final championship round.
- The top 4 participants across the 4 games will then play in a final championship round to determine the tournament winner.
- Additional prizes will be determined at a later date but as of 8/14/23, we anticipate that:
- 2nd place – a gift of $25
- 1st place – a gift of $45
- All 4 championship round participants will recieve other misc BSG branded items as well for reaching the final table
- All participants will also recieve a mid-tournament snack in the form of pizza slices and a choice of beverage from our concessions fridge.
- We will be filling seats in a first come, first served basis. There will be a wait list if someone has to drop that will be filled from that list.
